Are Ojon products good for african-american hair? ?

I don't have a relaxer but my hair is color treated. I am trying to find good products that truly work for my hair. I don't like products that have a heavy floral or perfumed smell and I know you have to be careful because shampoos and conditioners can have an adverse reaction with chemicals in the hair. I just want to maintain my hair and keep it growing. Are Ojon products good for african-american hair? ?
I have not heard of Ojon but I do have other choices for good products.

HAIR PRODUCTS FOR NATURAL BLACK HAIR:

1. Ones without sulfates/silicones are best. These are found online or specialty stores Jessicurl, Mixed Chicks, DevaCare, Blended Beauty, Karen Body Beautiful, Kinky Curly Custard are some of the best.

2. Mainstream products for your hair: Pantene, Herbal Essences, Suave, and Clairol are the best. Pantene is great because it makes detangling a breeze. Terri @ biracialhair.org has great advice on washing and conditioning.

3. Styling helpers: gels like LA Looks or Fantasia IC, setting lotions, nut butters like shea butter, leave in conditioner.

4. Also since your hair is color treated it is damaged. Color=damage, you should do a protein treatment like Aphogee A Step every now and then.

5. I like shampoos without sulfates becuase they are too harsh for our hair type. I use Aubrey Organix products or Apple Cider Vinegar.

Conditioner, conditioner, conditioner, your hair will be very porous (curly/kinky hair is) so it will gain/lose moisture fast. Conditioners seal moisture in. Dry hair is more brittle, tangly, and frizzy. While still wet apply a condish. I personally am moving toward more natural products like shea butter, oils like coconut, and even natural shampoos like apple cider vinegar.

Also I have heard of Aphogee A Step is great for color treated hair and I will be getting that as well!! Report Abuse

I have heard that this product has had great results on African American. I have not used the product myself, so I cannot tell you the results of it, but I do know that it is natural and safe for color-treated hair.
